Question:
My system built on Tyan s2895 crashed and my hard drive wont be recognised even in BIOS after that. The system was doing intense calculations and installing security updates at the same time from Microsoft. Has this killed the board or the Hard drive? (21/06/2006) Answer: Neither. Probably the program that was working wasnt very compatible with windows update that resulted in an abnormal instruction to the hardware (ACPI specifically) that caused the HD to be invisible by the system and gives the error - 'no operating system found'
